March 2011 was a big month for Clickstop, Inc., not only did the company move its warehouse and staff into a brand new 35,000 square foot facility, but they celebrated the first million dollar revenue month in the company’s five year history.04.14.2011– Clickstop, Inc., an eCommerce company headquartered in Urbana, Iowa, just completed building a brand new warehouse and office facility outside of town near the intersection of Interstate 380 and Highway 150. The 22,500 square foot warehouse more than doubles the space in their previous facility and allows them room for expansion as they grow the company’s flagship brands of US Cargo Control, EcoFoil, and SpaceSavers.com.
“Everything in the new building is designed to improve the workplace experience and increase our efficiency,” said company co-owner and President Tim Guenther, “we’ve reworked our layout and bin system to improve order fulfillment, added multiple packaging and shipping stations, and now have three docks that allow us to process multiple incoming and outgoing freight activities at the same time.”
As well as the new warehouse, Clickstop moved their nearly 40 employees out of their previously cramped quarters – some in converted warehouse space – into an airy 12,500 square foot office building full of natural light that boasts features such as a café style break room, fitness facility, and three conference rooms. The new facility has room to accommodate up to 80 employees.
Sarah Fare, VP of Business Development said “Last year we experienced tremendous growth in staffing – we added 18 new employees which was nearly 100% growth for the company and that required us to do some creative space planning to find seats for the newcomers in the old facility. Now we’re poised for continued growth with space to comfortably add another 40 employees over the next several years.”
In addition to the move in March, the executive team issued a revenue challenge to the staff – make March a “Million Dollar Month” and win a company celebration. To do so would be the first month in the company’s history where combined revenue from their ten branded eCommerce web sites exceeded one million dollars.
“It might have been a little aggressive to shoot for a million dollar month right after our big move, it was a 10% increase over what we did last month” said Shaun Linderbaum, co-owner and Vice-President. “But our team took the challenge and ran with it. Everyone pitched in from sales and marketing to the warehouse; even our accounting team put in extra effort to bring unpaid accounts up to date. Together we actually brought in just shy of $1.2 million in revenue last month.”
