(PRWEB)–June 13, 2013–E-commerce company and EDC client, Clickstop, has been recognized by the Corridor Business Journal (CBJ) as one of the Coolest Places to Work in the seven-county area that comprises the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City Corridor. The Urbana-based company ranked #1 of nine nominated companies in the medium-sized category.
Clickstop founder and CEO, Tim Guenther, his family, and a group of 16 employees learned of the top ranking during a breakfast awards ceremony on June 11th. The event was sponsored by the CBJ and held at The Hotel at Kirkwood Center, Cedar Rapids. Overall, 24 corridor businesses were honored in the categories of small (20 or fewer employees), medium (21-99 employees), and large (100+ employees).
The Coolest Places to Work event was created to recognize corridor-based companies that have created work environments regarded by employees as engaging and rewarding. Nominated companies were chosen based on a worker satisfaction survey completed by their own employees. The survey required at least 50% participation by employees, and included a range of topics such as work and life balance, workplace flexibility, career paths, management style, and compensation.
Clickstop was found by Guenther in 2005, with the launch of the company’s now flagship web store, USCargoControl.com. Consistent growth allowed the business to expand, and it now operates 11 online web stores in variety of markets, from moving supplies and energy efficient insulation products to organizing solutions and personal fashion jewelry. Most recently, the company has expanded into the development of its own products on site, with the addition of a sewing and assembly team for its line of ratchet straps and cam straps for the US Cargo Control brand.
A staff of 71 employees manages everything from product merchandising and website development to sales support and shipping. Clickstop was also recently recognized by the CBJ as one of the fastest growing businesses in the area, the only company to receive the honor for five consecutive years.
“While the recognition for business and revenue growth is always exciting, an acknowledgement such as this is especially rewarding because it’s based on what our own employees feel about the company and the culture we’re creating,” said Guenther. “We know that successful growth and a positive, enjoyable working environment go hand-in-hand, and an award like this is proof of that belief.”
