CEDAR RAPIDS, IA—May 3, 2010—The Entrepreneurial Development Center (EDC), a Cedar Rapids-based business accelerator, is pleased to announce that five of its clients will be recognized at the Corridor Business Journal’s FASTEST GROWING COMPANIES breakfast on May 25 at the Cedar Rapids Marriott. This notable list of clients includes: AES Corporation (Cedar Rapids), Clickstop (Urbana), HH Ventures (dba Ready Mobile) (Hiawatha),Involta (Marion) and Ovation Networks (Cedar Rapids). SecurityCoverage, a Cedar Rapids business EDC worked with early on, is also on the Fastest Growing Companies list.
The CBJ notified the top 15 companies but will not reveal the actual rankings until the breakfast. It is the third year for this event that recognizes companies with the highest growth rates in the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City Corridor. Companies had to earn at least $350,000 annually and were ranked based on the percentage increase in revenue experienced from 2007 to 2009.
“The Corridor Business Journal’s Fastest Growing Companies list is a great way to recognize the companies that contribute to our community’s economy,” said Curt Nelson, President & CEO of the EDC. “Scaling a company is difficult in the best of circumstances but for these companies to post revenue growth despite the recent recession, is a true accomplishment.”
