From Linn County Public Health: Contact Tracing Virtual Option

From Linn County Department of Public Health
As you are aware, COVID-19 positive case numbers continue to rise in Linn County. You can view the current and past Linn County COVID-19 case counts and other Linn County metrics on the Linn County Public Health (LCPH) website. The quick and continued rise of confirmed COVID-19 cases has put a strain on the contact tracing team. The LCPH contact tracing team includes, contracted staff, volunteers and LCPH staff from clinical services and other internal branches.

The contact tracing process involves contacting individuals that are confirmed to have COVID-19, providing education, and notifying close contacts that have potentially been exposed to the virus that causes COVID-19. LCPH is working with community partners to assist with timely identification, notification, and education of cases and close contacts. These partners include long-term care facilities, schools, colleges, hospitals and some employers. LCPH is dedicated to ensuring individuals that have tested positive for COVID-19 are contacted. Individuals will be contacted with information on how to slow the spread of the virus that causes COVID-19.

While the contact team continues to follow-up with those testing positive for COVID-19 and those they have been in contact, a virtual tool has been added to assist. Please feel free to share the information below with employees, patients, students (or parents if student is a minor) or others who have tested positive for COVID-19. They do not need to wait for the phone call from a contact tracer. Information can be entered through a secure website.

When you become aware employees, students, or patients test positive for COVID-19 you can provide them Guidance for COVID-19 Positive Individuals and the COVID-19 Investigation Form. The COVID-19 Investigation Form serves as an online method to gather contact tracing information.
