CEDAR RAPIDS, IA—FEBRUARY 19, 2013—The Entrepreneurial Development Center (EDC) is pleased to announce that three of its clients are finalists in five categories of the 2013 Prometheus Awards hosted by the Technology Association of Iowa (TAI).
The client finalists include: Involta, Ready Wireless and Terpenoid Therapeutics.
The eighth annual Prometheus Awards event will be held Tuesday, April 9 at Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Des Moines. The awards event recognizes companies, innovations and individuals that positively impact Iowa’s technology-based economy.
EDC congratulates its clients on their recognition as finalists for these prestigious technology awards. “We’re pleased that three of our clients are finalists for the 2013 Prometheus Awards,” said Curt Nelson, President and CEO of the EDC. “This recognition is further validation of the impact these high-growth entrepreneurial technology businesses have on Iowa’s economy.”
Involta, headquartered in Marion, IA, is finalist for IT Service Provider of the Year, Top Growth Company of the Year and Technology Company of the Year (Large/Enterprise). Involta provides full-service data center capabilities and support to manage and protect mission critical computer systems and associated data.
Terpenoid Therapeutics, based out of the University of Iowa BioVentures Center, is a finalist for Life Sciences Company of the Year. Terpenoid is a drug discovery and development company focused on advancing novel drugs for cancer and osteoporosis.
Additionally, two EDC clients are finalists for CEO of the Year: Bruce Lerhman, CEO of Involta and Dennis Henderson, CEO of Ready Wireless. Ready Wireless, a Hiawatha-based MVNE (Mobile Virtual Network Enabler), powers devices, services, and systems on a multi-carrier wireless platform for resale to wholesale private label customers.
