Three EDC Clients Win 2012 Prometheus Awards

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA–APRIL 12, 2012–The Entrepreneurial Development Center (EDC) is pleased to announce that three of its clients were among the Corridor businesses recognized last night at the seventh-annual Prometheus Awards, hosted by the Technology Association of Iowa (TAI). This distinguished list of clients includes: Genova Technologies, Involta and Ovation Networks.

Cedar Rapids-based Genova Technologies received the award for Top Growth Company of the Year. Genova employs nearly 150 and specializes in project management, custom software development, requirements gathering and IT consulting nationwide.

Involta, headquartered in Marion, IA, won IT Service Provider of the Year. Involta builds, owns and operates Tier III data centers in the Midwest.
 
Ovation Networks, based in downtown Cedar Rapids, won Best User of Technology. Ovation Networks develops and supports wireless technology for the hotel industry, including software that manages Wi-Fi access, 24×7 Guest Support, and energy management hardware and services.

The 2012 Prometheus Awards, held April 11, at Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Des Moines, IA, recognizes companies, innovations and individuals that positively impact Iowa’s technology-based economy. A record crowd of over 600 people were in attendance at the Awards to celebrate the best and brightest technology companies in Iowa.

Cyber-Anatomy (Iowa City) was another Corridor company to be recognized at the 2012 Prometheus Awards. Cyber Anatomy received awards for Outstanding Startup Company of the Year and Innovation in Teaching. Additionally, Stackd, also based in Iowa City, received Student Innovation of the Year.
 
In addition, EDC client MobileDemand (Hiawatha), was a finalist for Technology Company of the Year (Large/Enterprise) and its CEO, Matt Miller, was a finalist for CEO of the Year. Ovation Networks was also finalist for Technology Company of the Year (Small/Medium), Clean Technology Company of the Year and IT Service Provider of the Year.Clickstop (Urbana) was finalist for Top Growth Company of the Year, Technology Company of the Year and CEO, Tim Guenther, CEO of the Year. Terpenoid Therapeutics (Coralville), another EDC client, was a finalist for Life Sciences Company of the Year.
