Kim King, a Cedar Rapids native, leads regional and national venture investing at Alliant Energy. She is responsible for due diligence and screening of business opportunities. For almost 25 years, Kim has been a leader in the energy space working in economic development, energy efficiency, regulatory, renewables, business development and innovation. Before joining Alliant Energy in 1998, Kim worked at Priority One, the economic development arm of the Cedar Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce, collectively now known as the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance.
For nearly a decade, Kim has served as a Commissioner on the Cedar Rapids Planning Commission. She received a BBA degree in Administrative Management and Marketing from Mount Mercy University and an MBA from the University of Iowa. She is a certified Economic Development Finance Professional, Economic Developer, Six Sigma Green Belt, and Innovation Engineering Green Belt.
